Mandy studied for her BA at Maidstone College of Art graduating in 1989. Recently she exhibited in the inaugural Soho Open and went on to have a solo exhibition, ‘Untold Objects’, Soho Solo’s, London (2026). Other recent exhibitions include ‘Still Life’ at Cable Depot in Sofia and a group exhibition 'The Chair' ‘at Lido Stores, Margate. An online collection of paintings 'Gathering of Things' launched earlier this year at Partnership Editions and she also collaborated with Assembly Line Official, an artist led platform, to produce individual painted bags. Mandy was shortlisted and exhibited in the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize in 2019 and Marmite Painting Prize 2016.
Hudson predominantly makes still life oil paintings and prints which focus on accidental arrangements happened upon in everyday life; collections of things in flea markets, car-boot sales and second-hand shops. Other times it can be things glimpsed in shop windows, items left on the street or plants and debris seen on walks along the Thames estuary near where the artist lives. Hudson is interested in the individual character of things and how they influence the way she paints them.
